Registration and abstract submission is still open, but no more than 4 empty timeslots for talks left.

Submit your abstract today! After some days you may not have the chance to present your results!

Up to now, we have 121 participants, 95 presentations from 18 countries.

But the registration and abstract submission is still open. No more than 10 empty timeslots for oral presentations left.

Abstracts can be further submitted via the online submission system, acceptance is based on `first come, first served`.

Poster are also accepted as long as space is available.

Call for Workshop proposals

The organisers cordially invite you to submit a workshop proposal. Workshops are distinguished meeting points for discussing ongoing work and the latest ideas related to a topic of general interest, or those gathering a sub-community. Each proposal will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee and four workshops will be selected to be held on Monday and Tuesday evening (4 and 5 July) within a 2.5 hours timeframe, as parts of the scientific programme of the symposium.

Workshop proposals must be submitted via e-mail (csabaigamma.ttk.pte.hu) including a title and a short description (max. 1000 characters) until 31 March. All workshops will be moderated and initiative talks will be presented by the proposers.

We are pleased to inform you that the number of submitted abstracts is beyond our expectations, despite the early deadline. The authors will be notified about acceptance via e-mail soon.

We have abstracts and registered participants from 15 countries so far: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and United Kingdom.

Due to numerous requests we are delighted to announce that the abstract submission deadline has been extended until 21 March, 2016. Please note that the abstracts submitted in the extended period might not be judged before the Early Bird Registration deadline.

Dear Colleagues,
 

We cordially invite you to the 2nd Central European Symposium for Aquatic Macroinvertebrate Research (CESAMIR), which will be held in Pécs, Hungary, on 3-8 July 2016. The symposium is organized jointly by the Department of Hydrobiology (University of Pécs) and the CARPATHES Nature Foundation.

CESAMIR aims to integrate recent achievements of all branches of aquatic macroinvertebrate science, from basic to applied research, including but not limited to taxonomy, biodiversity and faunistics, community and functional ecology, population biology, human impact, water pollution and ecotoxicology, water quality monitoring and metrics, from microhabitat modification to global changes, with a focus on the latest developments and trends, as well as future outlook.

Although, the symposium mainly focuses on Central European research and problems, participants are welcome from all over Europe. The organizing committee is gearing up for an exciting and informative conference program including plenary lectures, oral and poster presentations and various social events for 150+ participants.

We invite you to join us at the 2nd CESAMIR, where you will be sure to have a meaningful experience and fruitful conversations with scholars and aquatic macroinvertebrate experts from all around Central Europe. All members of the CESAMIR organizing committee look forward to meeting you in Pécs, Hungary.
